When creating a doll, it is helpful to have a vision for a character or theme. To start a vision board, collect favorite references of cloth dolls<\/a>, and childrens clothing. Collect swatches of fabrics, yarn, buttons, and trims. Once you start this process, most probably you will come up with many ideas…no problem, make many dolls!\u00a0Check out Pinterest for a wealth of ideas<\/span>. Be traditional or eclectic, express yourself!\u00a0<\/span>.<\/p>\n

You can sew 17″ dolls using a cut-and-sew fabric panel. Make a doll blank or a fully illustrated baby doll. Cut-and-sew bear, cat dolls and fashions are also available.<\/p>\n

For eyes, shank or dome buttons are acceptable. Use lock in eyes if this doll is for a very young child. Eye placement is totally up to you.<\/span><\/p>\n

When deciding eye size and placement, I find \u00a0test eyes are super handy! Test eye assortments<\/a> are available at CR crafts.<\/p>\n
