Sew the perfect cap for shark viewing

If you are a fan of Shark shows, this is a fun sewing project to get ready for viewing.

Below is a pattern for a childs’ hat. The large size fits a 20″ head. You can make this hat as is, or resize if necessary. This is an easy pattern that is to be made from stretch fabric such as polar fleece, one of the easiest fabrics to sew! (click photo for link to pattern info)

The photo sample is made in polar fleece, but a stretch glittery fabric could bring some fun results too. (If you decide to use a fabric other than fleece, back the outer cap with fleece so the fins and tail have body as shown in the photo.)

If you are determined to have a hat such as this one, but want to test or adjust the size, there are a few easy steps for you can take:

*Make an outer cap shell in stretch fabric to see how it fits.

*Use a basting stitch on your sewing machine so you can easily let out seams if necessary.

*Copy any new seamlines onto the final pattern.

*Presto, you are ready to make the hat as described in the pattern instructions.
