Design a tote

This week’s basic design project is an open tote.

This fashion accessory can be a design classic or created to make a statement. A beautiful fabric can be the beginning inspiration for any tote, and there are many cool trims that can be considered for a tote strap.

To further decorate a tote, explore references. Try an online search for fabric jewelry, some of those techniques could be a possibility for a unique strap or applied design. Flipping through a scrapbooking magazine will definitely get you reeling with appliqué ideas!

Make one or make many, unleash your creativity. Express a mood. Make a gift to commemorate an event.  You can heap on appliqués, messages, or charms. Glam one up with glitzy trim and fabric.

This is a treasure trove of trim collected through the years. Any one could inspire a glitzy design theme.
